Ecce iam noctis tenuatur umbra
lucis aurora rutilans coruscat;
nisibus totis rogitemus omnes
cunctipotentem
Ut Deus, nostri miseratus, omnem
pellat angorem, tribuat salutem,
donet et nobis pietate patris
regna polorum.
Praestet hoc nobis Deitas beata
Patris ac Nati, pariterque Sancti
Spiritus, cuius resonat per omnem
gloria mundum. Amen.
See, now the shadows of the night are fading;
See the red dawning, see its radiance gleaming;
With all our efforts, let us all keep asking
God the Almighty:
That He may help us, in his loving mercy,
Drive off all anguish, grant us his salvation,
And give us likewise, with a Father’s kindness,
Heaven’s possession.
May God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit,
One blessed Godhead, whose eternal glory
Echoes resounding through the world forever,
Grant us this favor. Amen.
